
E-Learning Course Development
The results of Work Package 2 (WP 2) of the project informed the Work Package 3 (WP 3), which took place between June 2024 – March 2025. Aim of the WP 3 was to develop three e-learning courses in sports physiotherapy at EQF level 7. Each course, developed in English, comprised 5 ECTS Credits. The developed e-learning courses of the SportsComp project include 1) Diversity and Inclusion in Sports, 2) From Research to Innovation in Sports Physiotherapy Practice, 3) Decision-Making in Injury Prevention and Return to Sport.
Course introductions:
Course 1: Diversity and Inclusion in Sports
Diversity and Inclusion in Sports is a multidimensional 5 ECTS Credits - course that delves into the significance of diversity and inclusion within the realm of sports and physical activity. The course equips physiotherapists with the necessary insights, knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effectively navigate cultural complexities in sports settings and within physical activity environments. In addition, course deepens physiotherapists' competencies to promote equity and ethics in health care for athletes of all levels, ages and abilities.

Course 2: Decision-making in Injury Prevention and Return to Sport
Decision-making in Injury Prevention and Return to Sport is a multidimensional 5 ECTS Credits course designed to provide sports physiotherapists with the advanced knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for managing sports injuries and guiding athletes through effective rehabilitation. The course emphasises the critical role of informed, evidence-based decision-making in ensuring the health, safety, and optimal performance of athletes.

From Research to Innovation in Sports Physiotherapy Practice is a 5 ECTS Credits course that covers a comprehensive overview of topics, such as statistics, research methodology, innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) in sports. Course emphasises the importance of understanding the sources of evidence regarding research. By understanding the language of research, sports physiotherapists can be more mindful when reading about research or when addressing innovation advertising.
